Disability Support Worker – Complex Mental Health Supports
Crosslinks are seeking experienced and committed Support Workers to provide specialised support to a participant living with complex mental health support needs.
This is a role for individuals who can combine professional boundaries with genuine empathy, and who understand the importance of trauma-informed support in promoting safety, stability, and growth.
About the Role
As a Support Worker in Accommodation Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting a participant with high and complex mental health support needs. This position requires resilience, professionalism, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations.
You will:
- Provide consistent, person-centred support that promotes dignity and autonomy
- Apply trauma-informed principles, safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment in all interactions.
- Implement de-escalation strategies and manage behaviours of concern with professionalism and composure.
- Support participants to engage in daily routines, community access, and meaningful activities that foster wellbeing and self-esteem.
- Collaborate closely with clinical staff, coordinators, and families to ensure support strategies are followed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold compliance with NDIS and organisational requirements.
About You
We are seeking individuals with the following qualities and experience:
- Demonstrated experience with mental health support needs, and disability support
- Strong skills in de-escalation, crisis response, and risk management.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Resilient, patient, and able to maintain professional boundaries.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, and person-centred care.
- Willingness to engage in reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

Requirements
- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle.
- Police Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and First Aid Certificate (support can be provided to obtain these).
- Previous mental health, disability support experience and Certificates in the relating field is highly regarded.
