Our Disability Support Workers support participants in carrying out their daily functions in a manner that promotes independence while enabling them to achieve their personal goals. We create adventure and reduce barriers to support individuals in the community.

WE REALLY LISTEN

We support choice, decision making and acknowledge different communication styles by individually matching the right participant with the right support worker.

In your role you will need to:  

• Bring positive energy to support participants to achieve their desired goals and to be actively engaged in their home and community life.

• Use empathy and patience to understand the participant’s needs and ensure their overall wellbeing.

• Administer medication and treatments according to the relevant support plan.

• Demonstrate dignity and respect for aspects of personal care and ensure that the participant’s personal hygiene and appearance is maintained at an acceptable level, appropriate to their age and chosen activity while engaging in activities in the community.

• Communicate and engage with participants in a relevant and meaningful way while encouraging the participant to communicate and engage with others.

• Transport participants travelling to and from activities and outings using your own vehicle and/or Crosslinks modified pool vehicles.

• Mandatory requirements (Driver’s licence, own reliable transport)
• Things that you may not have but need to be able to get (Police Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening)
