Area Manager - Community Disability Support

We are a registered NDIS provider (National Disability Insurance Scheme) and we have the respect of our peers as a provider of excellent care.  We are looking for an experienced leader to join our team as an Area Manager on a full-time basis.

About the Role:

The Area Manager is a dynamic role, fast paced and a key member of the leadership group reporting into the Service Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a large team of Support Workers who provide services to participants, and for working with participants and their support networks to establish, manage and review supports, services and goals. Quality leadership skills and effective service coordination are key to the success of this role. 

All our Area Managers also share a 7-week rotating roster to be on call after hours.

You will be supported 

You will always have support! Crosslinks has five other Area Managers who are fun, approachable, and have worked at Crosslinks a long time so can help with anything you need to know. You will report to the Service Operations Manager who also has extensive, direct experience supporting participants.

Skills required

We are looking for individuals experienced in leading a team of support workers in the disability industry and that display an enthusiasm and willingness to support others. These are some of the core skills you need: 

  • Experience working in the disability sector (ideally with people with intellectual disabilities, or complex communication and behavior support needs).
  • Experience in a leadership role (ideally managing a team of support workers).
  • Extensive knowledge of NDIS funding, NDIS Quality and Safeguards legislation including the Practice Standards and an inclusive person-centered approach, understanding the importance of choice and control.
  • Strong understanding of Active Support principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated broad and diverse team culture experience.
  • A positive hands-on approach.
  • Be patient, caring, and people focused.
  • Tertiary or Diploma level qualification in a relevant health or welfare discipline (or working toward).

Essential Requirements 

  • Disability sector leadership experience.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearence.
  • National Police Clearance (within 6 months).
  • NDIS Worker Module.  
  • Valid First Aid with CPR certificate. 
  • Valid and current driver's license.
